DataFlix Privacy Policy

DataFlix has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for this Web site: www.DataFlix.com.

Information Collected

DataFlix.com does not share any user information with third parties. We respect your privacy! Any and all information collected at this site will be kept strictly confidential and will not be sold, reused, rented, loaned, or otherwise disclosed. Any information you give to DataFlix will be held with the utmost care, and will not be used in ways that you have not consented to.

Our site's registration form requires users to give us contact information (like name, email address, and postal address). At the user's request, we use the contact information from the registration form to send the user information about our company and to notify them of new flix.

We also have a registration form that allows users to purchase DataFlix flix. In addition to the information previously collected, this form also collects financial information (like credit card number and expiration date) in order to bill the customer for the flix they purchase. If we have trouble processing an order, the contact information is used to get in touch with the user. We also use this data to tailor the visitor's experience on our site, showing them content that we think they might be interested in, and displaying the content according to their preferences.

Though we make every effort to preserve your privacy we may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our Web site.

We use a credit card processing company to bill users for goods and services. These companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.

If a user elects to send a friend a flix gift, we ask them for the friend's name and email address. DataFlix will send the friend the gift via email and may also invite them to visit the site. DataFlix stores this information for the sole purpose of sending the email gift. The friend may contact DataFlix at info@DataFlix.com to request the removal of this information from our database.

Log Files

Like most standard web site servers we use log files. This includes IP (internet protocol) addresses, browser type, ISP (internet service provider), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and #of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user's movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. Log files are not linked to personally identifiable information.

Cookies

We use cookies to deliver content specific to your interests and to save your password so you don't have to re-enter it each time you visit our site.

DataFlix.com does not receive any information about you from these cookies. Some of our business partners may use cookies on our site (for example, advertisers). However, we have no access to or control over these cookies, once we have accepted their advertisements on our site.

Links

This web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we, DataFlix, are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this Web site.

Public Forums

This site makes use of reviews and ratings. Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information.

Security

This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. This website takes every precaution to protect our users' information. When users submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and off-line.

When our order form asks users to enter sensitive information such as a credit card number, that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry - SSL. While on a secure page, such as our order form, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when you are just 'surfing'.

Finally, the servers that we store personally identifiable information on are kept in a secure environment, behind a locked cage.

If you have any questions about the security at our website, you can send an email to info@DataFlix.com.

Choice/Opt-out

Our site provides users the opportunity to opt-out of receiving communications from us at the point where we request information about the visitor by un-checking the "Request DataFlix News" notify box. DataFlix.com gives users the opportunity to opt-out or unsubscribe from DataFlix news. Our site lets users unsubscribe to DataFlix News by sending us email at help@DataFlix.com.

Change/Modify

If a user's personally identifiable information changes (such as your zip code, phone, email or postal address), or if a user no longer desires our service, we provide a way to correct, update or delete/deactivate that user's personally identifiable information provided to us. This can usually be done by emailing our Customer Support at help@DataFlix.com. Or, you may contact us by telephone or postal mail at the contact information listed below.
